Custom/Hybrid Bendix takes out stator right before Daytona

This thread just scared me to death.
I always thought that if it engaged and released, then it was good.
Never knew what to look for.

Just put it all back together. Turns over fine, but I'm gonna worry now, having an OEM bendix circa 2004.

l came across this thread last night.Saw Flight Plan Dan's comments and started wondering.Then saw JetManiac's comments and pics.

Long story short,l recently bought a "perfect" bendix.One tab broke off after checking it from Chris's pics.l bought this newer bendix because my old one on the 865 is starting to act up.Guess l'll be sending the newer one for repairs.To the Maniac,of course!

*No hard feelings to the member l bought this off of either.l would guarantee that he had no clue,as well as myself that this bendix was messed up.Looking at it,it looks great.

Great,more things to worry with..........

Weights are touching here because the ears have broken off.


Weights are apart on other side. Look closely between weight and you can see the ears on the plate between weights.


Plate removed from bendix. This one has only 1 ear left on lower left in pic.
