Super Jet bendix maintenance?

Now that I have my ski all apart, what is the best method of bendix maintenance? I once soaked a bad one in gas for a few days and then let it sit in a bucket of tranny fluid for a couple weeks.... As I recall that was still a temporary fix to a sticky bendix.

This one is currently working, if it ain't broke don't fix it?

if it aint broke don't fix it.

As long as the front area on the cases is sealed well it should last a long time.

Water in there will kill a bendix quick though. I just grease mine with a little marine grease on installation and don't worry about em after that.

I replaced my 10 year old bendix in november, it looked nearly as good as the newer one, but a lightly used freshwater take off from a supplier like Watcon is cheap insurance. Like he said above me, if its sealed off from the elements and protected with some lube/grease/oil, etc...its not really worth going out of your way replacing it unless you have a reason or suspicion that it needs to be...like for instance a rebuild after 10 years, or maybe its sticking, etc

Think if that thing comes apart and the bits are rattling around in there with a magnetized flyhweel spinning around..."will it blend"
