FX-1 Bendix going bad?

Ive noticed that sometimes when I go to start my fx1 the starter will spin up but the engine won't turn over. Pretty much every time it does it all I have to do is wait a second and hit the star button again and it engages and starts up right away. Is this a sign of an aging bendix? I had it out last year and it seemed ok but I didn't have a new bendix to compare it to so I'm simply guessing. So should I start looking for a spare bendix for when it goes or do these symptoms indicate a different problem?

Yes that is a sign its going bad. My seadoo was doing same thing for a few wks till i replaced it. Some ppl take theirs out and clean them up.

Take it out soak it in transmission fluid clean it up and reinstall.

could be a weak battery or bad cables too. They won't engage without the starter fast enough making an initial hard "bump" to the bendix.
