Beach Cart Hook on the cheap

My Jet-Lift strap tore hauling fat sit downs up a hill this past summer, so I needed a replacement!

1. Get a 3/8"x 8" or longer Stainless Steel Eye loop from your local hardware store.

2. Remove the Nut, and bend it into a hook by doing small bends every 1/4" until it looks like below. A vise would be ideal for this, but I just used a hole in my trailer. I added some heat shrink over the threads. You could sand/grind them down, but that takes work.

3. Test fit it in the hole, I had to open mine up a little to get a nice hook action.

4. Use some left over Ratchet strap, and sew the hook on to the cart.

Great idea!
You could put some waterline over the threads also for better protection!

I thought about that, but I didn't want to open the hook up more to make the bend. You could also use a smaller diameter eye loop, and then use the hose on the threads?

I am using a beverage type line that would probably work fine with that bend. simiar to the braided clear like you can find at lowes, just the wall is not as thick.
