I've killed as many expensive ones as cheap ones at this point and tried many different chargers and charging methods over the years. About the only constant I can find is that batteries fail. Sometimes for good reasons but more often just from sitting or overcharging. To date Odyssey has been my biggest disappointment with a Yuassa AGM being my best experience with over 6 years of faithful service. I'm testing Deka's out now.

I am still liking the pair of Deka ETX-9's i bought at the beginning of last year for $54 shipped although I left my charger on an ETX-14 overnight a few weeks ago and seem to have killed it. I slammed the 9 back in and it has had no troubles running the EPIC with my SS865 so we shall see.

You can get a jetworks equivalent battery (18AHr SLA) from Power-Sonic for under $45, or a Power-Sonic sealed PWC battery too for whichever model you're riding. Look em up, www.power-sonic.com

I've already been burned once by rebadged batteries. A lot of the rebadging companies just copy and paste the specs from the name brand battery they are copying knowing that the person buying the cheaper battery won't have the equipment to truly test their data. I bought a battery that claimed 10AH and weighed 6lbs. When I got it, it weighed 9lbs and couldn't have been even close to their CCA or AH ratings. That thing was pathetic.

I'm not sure if PS are rebadged or not, but I believe they have their batteries built to their specs. Do you really think Jetworks manufactures their batteries? For the record, I don't run this type of battery any longer. I am running a sealed battery from Power-Sonic, PTX20LBS-FS, been on it for a year now running TL and not an issue yet....time will tell the real story.
