all batteries like that have a vent, only sealed, or AGM, or gell or "drycell" batteries wont have that vent.

at wally mart, get whatever is cheap.

I personally use the Odyseyy batteries, and they have been good to me ( I currently have 5 of them in service)

But Matt_E and some others have had piss poor luck with them.

they dont sell those at wally world, so it isnt an issue.

get he most CCA you can fit into that size battery for the least $$$ you want to spend.

cold cranking amps.

it should be on the battery sticker.

likely though wally mart only has one or two choices.

can you stop by an auto parts store on teh way and get your battery tested?

althogh thats not conclusive, sometimes the kids working there wasnt even qualified for the Burger flippin job, and now he is testing and selling auto parts.

You will need to turn in your old battery for a core charge too ( $10 or so)

thats why you should make sure its bad, although from your previous testing I am pretty sure that it is.

Just get the 16-CLB type battery. That is the common battery type for most watercraft. If Wally world does not have it, try Autozone, Advance, ORileys, you get the idea.

Backed out??? Does he honestly think that he is going to get any type of 16CLB for less than $50? They dont even rate them with CCA on most of those small batteries anyway. I would guess that the regular flooded batteries are around 250 CCA or so. The AGM batteries usually rate at around 275 CCA and cost from $65 to $90.

Agreed, the Everstart is not the best, but on the flip side, I have one in the wifeys boat that is 4+ years old and going strong. Better than nothing, if he cases it off of jumps routinely the cheaper batteries will break in no time.

I got a 5lb discount auto parts battery that was 26 bucks after the core. I have ran it for a couple weeks now with no problems. I run the bildge quite a bit too, but it is supper slow so probably does not draw much power. My ski starts 1st bump though as well.

mouthfulolake I think MattE was having a nightmare with the odyssey but in the end it turned out to be the store and no the battery. check his posts it might even be a sticky. I just know about it because I like those and was ticked that they might not be very reliable. I think its still under review with MattE but last I read still going...................

I know one thing, between my SJ not being reiforced, and only having a 5lb battery, me and a friend agreed that my ski felt lighter and more flickable compared to his reinforced SJ with a standard battery. The Brap is about the same on both skis. I guess that 15-20lbs realy does make a difference. Both skis have dry foam.
