Super Jet bars/turnplate?

Right now my sj is for the most part stock.....are there any pros/cons in upgrading to an aftermarket setup?....my style right now with only 1 season under my beltis prety much just wave jumping and stuff along those lines...eventully id like to get into surf riding

4 degree or 0 degree bars and a quick steer turnplate will make a nice difference

If you upgrade the steering, I'd recommend staying away from the ones with bearings if you are going for surf riding. The Blowsion one on my ski works, but has to be cleaned out from time to time due to the salt water intrusion.

Do the nozzle mod, get some 0 degree bars with good grips, move the cable on turn plate to the max adjustment, and it will be like a brand new ski.

Search google through this site for the nozzle mod, it does SO MUCH, you will be shocked

If you do get an aftermarket turn plate, Cold-Fusion is where its at and you don't need to worry about any of that bogus bearing mess. I think they are $129 but it's a far bar system so you would need to upgrade to fat straight bars $49 or fat riser (50mm or 75mm) bars $59.

The nozzle mod is free and a big improvement!
I would ride a ski before going with 0* bars - I don't like them, many do, it is what is comfortable to you.
One other advantage to AM steering, and the reason I just switched is the shortened turnplate option, which moves you forward a couple inches without chopping the pole. AM turnplate also has better clearance for AM throttle setup if that matters to you.

You need a umi bearing system, to run that. I have a similar setup and I find it twitchy because the steering is too light. A bushing system like what fearmywrx suggested would allow you to fine tune the play you have in the steering by simply tightening the bolt and then locking it in place. Also the riser bars some like some do not. Lastly a shortened turn plate -1 or -2 will allow you to get further forward without shortening your pole. http://cold-fusion.pinnaclecart.com/control/quick-turn-plate-universal/. Check this out says uses oem bushing u can also get a bolt with a set screw in it that locks in place

so i was thinking of doing the exact same thing as bathorny1990 and search for "THE NOZZLE MOD" and couldnt find anything. could some one lead me in the right direction or just post the thread please!!

Depends on the year too, if my knowledge is correct. I was looking all this up for my 2012 SJ which has awful throw/steering from the factory, i went with the CF turnplate, riser bars, and smitty steering cable. The steering adjustments on a 08+ factory stuff isn't gonna help that much but i think they work pretty good prior to the 08s... someone correct me if i'm wrong.

nozzle mod is simple you are just re-drilling a hole closer to the nozzle so it responds faster. You can buy an aftermarket turn plate from cold fusion for 69 bucks that does not need a bearing system and you can run normal bars with it. This turn plate is quick steer and will shorten you up 2 inches if you run 0 degree bars and almost 3 if you run straight bars. I would do that, i am running it and it is awesome!!!! Its all on col fusions site. They have new bushings too and the lock nut if u scroll down, but do it the way you want to, make it ur ski
