Are you going to the freeride at Crystal Beach March 14-16? There will be plenty of us to offer some pointers. Myself, Parrdaddy, RMBCfreeride, Gloryfreestyle and I'm sure many others roll and would be glad to help.

Sweet I think we were planning to come down late march but I will check with my buddy we are coming down from Iowa so it is a good road trip for us.....I'm putting together my 05 Sj and my buddy is building a gp800sj so would there be anyone there that could help us get these things tuned?? Even just some pointers would be helpfull. Is there any shops or anything like that down there?

What do you think the minimum requirement (motor wise) is for a surf barrel roll?,
was thinking of trying, but not sure if it is just stupid to try on a stock sj with lifters?

stock motor will get you around

if not just the head and a pipe would help out some....remember you've got a pretty big wave to launch off of

you really need footholds, yes, there are a few guys who can do them with just lifters, but they are very experienced.

as far as motor wise, if your in the surf then you can get by with a stocker, if flat water then you really need at the minimum Pipe, head (or shaved head) and a good low pitch prop.

Yeah..come on down. This is going to be my first surf ride, so I'm going to be trying to roll and flip for the first time also. Still have a lot to do to my sj to have it ready, but we're going to be bustin' our arses off to get'em done.
