barrel roll opinions

I dont touch my trim on rolls. Played with it a couple times off some larger rollers and all i ended up with was broken parts and a sore body. Maybe theres a better technique to it though. I def noticed it slowed my rotation down.

Got another question. All those rolls were off a small ski boat, when i go for them off a big yacht wake what do i need to do different so i dont over rotate? Do i need to straighten up more to slow the rotation, or do i not need to lean that far toward the pisser. Also what position should i be in to spot my landing? I guess what im asking is if im leanning toward the pisser on my left side should my head also be looking over my right shoulder to spot my landing, because right now im leanning toward my pisser and my head is trying to look at the bottom left of my ski

yes, you losen your tuck to control the rotation speed.

Keep the nose up. When I look at a roll I try to think of how would the boat react to throwing the hands off.....where would you end up? Where would the boat end up? Are you and the ski rolling the same way (ie on a common axis)? I am no expert but I would try to snap the bars and gas it a little more while keeping the pole low.....shift your weight forward a little. That should keep the nose up and bring the tail down....essentially making the rotation faster and tighter.

Curiously, what kind of power are working with? I'm going to assume ported 701, b pipe, ada head?

701 with 185psi and a tnt chamber and a 12/17 swirl. Works for me:smile:

It seems like the bigger you go the more you need to spot your landing, but when you spot your landing your taking away from the form

I find that when I start the roll, I look at the water on the left. Almost turn my head toward my shoulder. As the ski rotates, my head follows the water. I basically pick a spot and watch it all the way arround. Picture looking at your left shoulder, then rolling your head so you look at the ceiling, then roll rour head to your right shoulder. This usually orients me also, eyes are always on the water, and if I'm high I can open up and slow down. I don't think you will over rotate on a boat wake right off.

Thanks man that helps me alot. I just couldnt figure out how to position my head. I didnt need to know on flatwater because im was just trying to spin the hell out of the ski

nope, watch more videos closely. (Not that i can do one)
