Where did you look when you roll? Hood? Side rall? My problem is I always look at the wave so my body can't fallow the roll but if I lok at the nose I'll stop in the haft way.

you see the sharks mouth below the bond line? How can you, you are not looking at!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ty to "Look under the bond line. When you to this, you are leading the ski, rotation will follow. Keep the pole down.

I didn't want to join, but my friends had an intervention, and here I am. they said if I don't figure this out I am going to die. I need to join BARFA! I am going to sit on my ski and practice Lucas' pose all night, and ride with wreckeless abandon this weekend, I will get this monkey off my back!

props to big K, he still hits the roll hard off boat wakes as seen this past weekend. I have found that once ya quit doing them its easy to loose the correct focous , deffinateley not like riding a bike. I still hate flatwater rolls after nearly breaking the largest bone in my body. Flatwater rolls are twice as hard on you and the boat then boat wake rolls IMO.
This thread is so freakn old its crazy to see it come back up.

I'm a grave digger and doing my research I have to actually land one this weekend, I'm obsessed with it to be honest! In my humble opinion I think this is a cooler trick than a backflip!

I think the same thing. I have'nt even tried a barrel roll. Iam breaking enough stuff trying stabs and 2 BFs.

Funny thing is I feel more comfortable trying stabs to the right and feel like if I were to try and roll ,I would go left.

Agreed, and it's much harder, too.
I'm also going to practice the poop out of it this weekend.

You guys certainly have an advantage with the SFs. I told my wife that if I was going to get an A/M ski, I was going to first try to do rolls and BFs.
There is no sense in having an A/M ski to jump straight up ,fall off and repeat all day!
Its hard to learn new tricks at 40 though.

im trying this weekend and i hope to get some vid. I tryed maybe 15 times last time i rode and it scared the crap out of me. Because i have fear i think is the reason why i did bad. I felt like i had eveything down until i left the wave. then i would freak out and throw the ski away.

Well, a fruitfull weekend of attempts, but no completions yet. Made it past 3/4 a handfull of times, cracked my freaks' hood, same spot as Ed's hood crack. Still very strong but I'll have to talk to Tem about beefing mine up for next year. Broke the gopro mount off of my helmet early in the day or I'd have video of my attempts for critique. My weekend was ended when I broke 3 motor mounts after a barrel roll fail that amounted to a huge inverted stab from about 8 feet up off of a nice boat wake. I'm glad rhaas's urethane mounts have a great warranty, he already has things worked out for me. Great guy to deal with!

I'll take a pic in the am, it wasn't from the pole slapping it I was practicing all weekend with the pole on the hood as I was approaching the wakes, I feel like I made progress in my rotational speed, and it was staying flatter instead of going vertical. Ed had one go plate to plate but didn't ride out clean. He is a little Carter along than I am and closer to landing one, I worked hard to get lower and spot the landing better keeping my arm tucked. But I'm still a ways off, I'm definitely going the right direction though!
