I went to WaveRave with curiosity to ride a BAM hull.
I don't really like many of the cheaper aftermarket hull options because they all rode so damn nose high and can only flip, so I was very skeptical of the BAM at first.
Ive loved every surf setup Rickter but I can't swing the hull cost and even if I could, I wouldn't spend that much on a hull. So I wanted to find something like that could handle surf in my price range.
I rode the 701 Carbon BAM and within the first couple minutes, I knew I wanted one. It carved, it popped out of the water, it spun, it simply did everything. I think it's a great overall do everything type of hull. I felt like I could take it in big waves no problem.
I've ridden a TON of hulls before and none of them made me want to buy one except for the BAM
Next day we were fortunate enough to have bigger waves at WaveRave so Joe let me take the ski for another spin. We had like 3-5 foot waves and it was a riot.
I saw more people ride the orange BAM at WaveRave than any other hull. All came back and had great things to say about it too.
What I liked the most about the hull was its ability to plane out so quick like a Superjet can. It didn't bob up and down and feel like you're riding a 2x4, it simply just took off like a superjet and planes out with ease.
A few other things I liked about the hull:
-the quality of the hull was awesome
-there is lots of room in the hull. The engine bay doesn't look crammed. There was another BAM ski there with an Xscream 900 and a lay down pipe, think it was a PFP. Being able to run a full size stock SJ tank is also a huge plus for me
-the paint jobs are amazing
-Durable, yet extremely light. The hood weighs nothing. I rode the full carbon hull that was built two years prior and it looked brand new. No spider cracks everywhere like you see in other carbon skis after a couple of years of abuse.
-Not to mention, Joe is a very cool dude. He's a stand up guy who has been around these things for years. He's not in this for the money at all. He just wants to bring us something new
