Was a great day at the lake until I noticed a popping noise and sudden unfamiliar vibration. I thought I had blown the B-Pipe coupler again.

May have something to do with the giant cheater bar and pipe wrench that were required to remove it during my recent rebuild. . .
. . . guess it could have been a lot worse :smashfreakB:

remember.. these fit the FX-1, round nose , mid shafts (62L) not the older larger square nose midshafts . . .
I assume that refers to the hull side coupler having a larger thread?
Anybody know if there is any difference in the motor side coupler?

The part numbers are confusing:

6R7-45813-00-5B motor side for 650 Superjet
6R7-45813-11-9M hull side for 650 Superjet

6M6-45813-10-9M motor side '92 WR3 (I have a WR3 donor ski if necessary)
6R7-45813-11-9M hull side '92 WR3

6M6-45813-31-9M RPMT: 6M6-45813-32-8P motor side '96 SJ
6M6-45813-21-9M RPMT: 6M6-45813-21-8P is hull side '96 SJ

The motor side coupler is the same for all years.
You can get a newer midshaft (just the shaft) to put into your midshaft carrier.

I would probably just stick another set of stock couplers on.

You've made me feel good about replacing mine now. Mine looked fine when I took it off to swap in my new motor, but I figured I may as well replace it while everything is apart. Seems like I may be happy with that decision.

You are correct they will not fit a Pre 94 superjet
they only fit the superjets that came with a 701 motor and not skis that originally had the 650 6m6 motors

seems many have put a 61x or 62t mtrs in their early skis and forget they still have the original midshaft

as others said the housing will accept the newer 701 midshaft and
the motor side is the same on all

I got my ski back together tonight and had a lightbulb come on when aligning the motor. I am pretty sure I didn't leave enough end gap (rec. is 2-4mm) last time I aligned the motor.
