who is that on the yellow and black boat? black with yellow graphics? His backflips look soooo sweet. So much technique. Very different from most others.

ill bet that 57 pound xft hull may also play a part in getting that thing around, doesnt it dan?

You got that right!!! I still havent attempted a backflip but i can with my XFT jump off a wake and if i just pull a bit on the bars and lean back ill end up upside down head first. No trim sys.

So it does feel like itll be easy to backflip.. but the nads man the nads:frown: !!

Zane..

Lately I've been sounding like a prick on these boards, so I apologize in advance, but in order to help all you guys who spend the big bucks on the powerfull motors, sack up and start throwing backeys, I'm gonna add my 2 cents. One of my major concerns for doing a backflip in the surf is bottoming out and hitting sand and seperating from the ski and landing on it or having it land on you. Landing upside down is only a concern when your talking about 15+ feet because everything is moving much faster. Most of the stuff happening on flatwater isn't that high in relation to surf aerial stuff. You guys have the advantage of not having to worry about the depth, not having to worry about getting seriously messed up and not have to worry about what dropping your boat from 20+ feet upside is gonna do to it. I say just stay connected to the boat and for a little reasurance, wear a helmet. With the abscense of the "nads" factor, you guys can try several more attempts in order to work on the proper form, which I think is the ability to rotate as fast as humanly possible. Personally that makes me dizzy, so i prefer to work on slowing down my rotation ;) Hope this helps everybody sack up a little.

No prickness, dont stress... what you posted is true. Flatwater is technical and i think a lot more fustrating,4 me that is!! Just a question 4 backflips:
How do judges award points for a backflip? does it count more if the amplitude is the same but you land on the rideplate..i mean if you can ride it out you can do them...? just curious thanx.

I really don't think landing on the ride plate looks good. In surf we call that an ankle breakers. Just ask sicki or pardaddy They are bad on the boat and the body, even though everybody says a nose first landing isn't a complete backflip. The bigger you go the more nose first you need to land, and as long as you ride out of it, it looks good. As far as judging is concerned, no idea.
