back flip potential

just keep practicing.

try as much as you can to ride with people better than you. it will help you progress rapidly.

based on the video you posted, i dont think you're ready yet? but having a clear goal and trying to accomplish it is definitely the right approach to it.

Hood straps, gas tank straps may be a good idea too. I agree with Saki though, looks like you could use a little more practice.

get out and ride
that vid was only my first ten mins on the ski also,it will be hard to ride with people better than me because everyone on the lake that rides stand up are eather rlly young or suck at it, and i do have a light flywheel dont know what kind tho

We were making setup wakes with my XL800 like you would on a standup and it's silly how big they get with the trim up and someone on the back. If we get them right they actually break like a wave. It is crazy how much height we were getting. The first one I hit I ghost rode my ski because I wasn't ready for the amount of pop it had. If you get a real boat doing this it won't take much.

to the guys doing flips: are your footholds clamping your feet in? my holds dont really hold my feet in super tight...

Like when kick your feet in.... is it real tight? do you have to pull them back out with any force? or does it just come right out? my feet touch the top of my holds but its not a tight squeeze... so I'm a little loose maybe?

If i had a backflip ski i would def try to to backflip and see what happens. I cant see it being more than just gasing it and fully commiting to pulling back

I had to pack out my 24-7 universals on the top with underpadding to get them tight. You can't just turf them and get a good lock.

Was trying to get some input from guys who are doing them already...

I have the same issue with my holds.. I cant sink my feet in super deep like I would like to feel that secure lock in. If I kick in real hard, It clamps on the front parts of my feet, but I'd prefer more lock on the top of my foot.

mine are kinda loose and never come out, i push outwards with my feet i think:spank:

Mine aren't all that tight either.....I think if the form is right it's not a problem. Only time mine come out is when I get stupid and forget the "NEVER BAIL" rule of backflips.
I need real waves to do them though. I tried the 2 wakeboard boat thing with my old ski and old motor and got fairly close. I'm guessing I might be able to pull them off. Hopefully I will find out soon!
