B1 155 pump

Hi all my B1 ate the 144 pump so i thought it would be a good time to swap over all the GP1200 parts.
Any tips and doing the 155 pump in a B1? i bought the 155 shoe and pump seal. Seems like the shoe is not a drop in at all tho. It needs reworked to fit in the hull. Can anyone let me know if they had the same trouble?
Thanks guys

If you bought the jd shoe. Yeah its a pain in arse. I put one in my wb 1200. I hope one day they will fix the shoe it doesnt really fit anything and is a sloppy lazy design.

grind the shoe cut off the lip on the top of the shoe down about 3/4. Leave about 1mm of the lip to help centre the shoe. Then g3ing the tunnel away to suit.

remeber the alloy is stronger than the tunnel so remove as much material you can from the shoe.

I used a tyre grinder drill attachment for punchure repairs. Sorta dome shaped drill bit.

last bit is seating the pump. At the very front of thepump. You will need to grind into the hull as it bottoms out.

use a new 155mm seal .

take the b1 shaft . Fit it in the pump

jobs done

Okay i ended up doing that. Just thought it would be a close fit from the start. Now it just seems like the shoe is slopped back to far but in not 100% sure yet on that. I still have to line the pump up and the seal should be here this week.
i will try and put up sme pics.
Thnaks for the help

It doesnt look right to me. I don't recommend using the original screw holes as a guide. I would fill them in and run new holes. From your pics the shoe looks like it needs to be tilted up so it has the same angle as the hull. Bolt up the pump and intake grate to help align it.

So i need to get the grate flat with the shoe {then} the shoe flat with the hull?
I just thought the shoe would be more bolt in not 3 hours of fiitting. live and learn i guess.

Thanks for the help guys

as of now all the blots / screws line up. But nothing fits with the hull the shoe slopes back to far i might have to shim the shoe and 5200 the gap or mix up cabosil

Dont worry about how the shoe lines up with the hull , the shoe sits where it has to sit. Bolt the pump in and the centerbearing and the motor. Get them lined up perfectly. Have the shoe in place loose so that after you get the drivetrain bolted in correctly you then hold the shoe against the pump Oring. Thats where it sits. Shim it or use a two part epoxy like an automotive panel adhesive thats thick and will hold the shoe in place till it all hardens up. Take it back appart , butter up the pump shoe , put it all back together and set the shoe. Let it dry and your good to go. But the shoe only fits in one spot and thats where the drivetrain needs it to be.

^^^Let me add that you will probably need to grind it flush after you do that. The way they make the shoe, it has more material than needed and will hang below the bottom of the hull. You dont want it hanging below the hull.

Just checked my JD shoe , its definitely flush across the bottom , yr gonna have to grind to flush fit. I remember taking off 3 mm off the top edge of the shoe. Shoe face should be flush with tunnel

Ps don't forget about the hull where the top of the wear ring touches 2 -3 mm to clear , fit the pump up first with out the shoe to locate the grind spot
