B-pipe temperature?

How hot does the outside of a b-pipe reach?

Reason I ask is because I got quote $70 for a powder coating (and prep work) of my pole and b-pipe (chamber only) and forgot to ask him what the paint can withstand.

Will the average coater be able to do this or do I have to go through jet hot (expensive!) for a 'special' high temp coat?

Also with chips in the b-pipe (nicks and guages) what can I use as a filler so they dont show in the coating? (high temp-durable)

Thanks
-Kevin

Jet hot I heard is 100 bucks. Thats 30 bucks more then the quote I got for my pole and pipe. I cant spend that much, and if it comes to it, I wont coat the pipe. Is there a corrosion coating on it as is? (could I polish finish it?)

I used spray paint with a hammered metal finish. It held up well and it wasn't made for high heat. If you plug up your water holes and overheat your pipe, you may burn the paint.

The chamber does not get that hot. I would say mabey 80-100 deg max. Powdercoat should hold up fine. I don't think Jet coating is necessary for the aplication. It looks cool, but I'm not showing my ski I'm ridding it. Have it coated with your pole and be done, $60 aint bad for both.

powder coating will hold up fine as long as you dont cook the pipe
(enough to burn the rubber) i only had mine sprayed in 2 pak car paint and held up awsome until i cooked the thing thats the only benifit with ceramic coatings it will clean up after a blocked pipe

it is expensive for me, as my local powder coater will blast and paint just the pipe for 30 bucks, and the pole for 40...

1/3 the cost of jet hot. I need to save money where possible, Im probably not gonna coat it, just clean it up.
