Some of the porting bits are pretty expensive.

I use this setup, also have other shaped heads. Can clean it out when it clogs with aluminum with a wire brush.

Using a bit with much larger and less teeth is better for aluminum. It won't clog as easy as the ones with smaller teeth. Also running them against a piece of steel will make quick work of cleaning them out.

I bought this cheap set for one job and they ended up being decent. Ive used the poop out of them since. They are small though 1/8th in. I also have a 8 piece snap on set that 1/4 in shank but they where $200.. The larger ones on a air grinder do serious work.

I spray the mating surfaces with acetone/sharpie mix out of a dollar store spray bottle. Once the acetone dries you are left with a nice black surface to scribe on using the gasket as a stencil. Be sure not to flip the gasket if it has to be trimmed too because it will not be symmetrical. Once you have the shape scribed (i use a piece of tungsten from a .50 cal round to trace) you can set the gasket aside and go to work.

Take your time and practice on some scrape. You will learn that different aluminums are easier or harder to shape and smooth.
