B-pipe/hull spacing... how much is enough

How much space have you given your b-pipes? I noticed that mine had developed a gash from having the bedplate vibrate against it. It looked like it was spaced well before I ran it....

Is 5mm above the bedplates/flywheel cover, and 2-3 mm from the port side of the hull enough? I can easily run a thick piece of cardboard down the side between the pipe and the hull. Should I start denting?

rotate is so that you have the clearence you need between the pipe and the bedplate, then put some turf on the hull between the pipe and hull. It will be tight at that point but it won't grind a hole in the hull.

I just turfed the chamber myself, and it seems to be holding up well. well see when it gets really hot one day though or the engine overheats
