auto startup programs

When I turn on my laptop, how do I keep the auto programs from starting?

Like Norton. It was free with my laptop and I never used it but every time I have to close it and hit yes to close. What do I do to keep it from coming up? Isnt there a start up menu somewhere? I cant find it.

Uninstall Norton completely...it is the only anti virus I have ever seen that gets infected with a virus. If it fights you during uninstall you will have to go to their site and dload their uninstall tool.

As far as other programs...click start...click run...type in MSCONFIG....and uncheck stuff....then reboot....then check the little box confirming you messed with it and close it.

be sure the stuff you uncheck is in the startup tab of the MSCONFIG window.
