AUTO DROP NOZZLE

Location

As a freeride parts manufacturer I know nothing about racing. While developing my cable pull trim systems I developed a Auto Drop nozzle. This nozzle fits pre 08 and post 08 Yamaha exit nozzles and also I have on for the Seadoo spark. I have found out that here in aus that they aren't allow to run this system, was wondering if that's the same in the States. Any info would be great. Thanks

Or are you talking about the kind that lowers when you turn the bars all the way? If so really not needed. They worked on the seadoo X4 hulls really well.

The system I have is you can pull the lever to lower the nozzle for take off and then it auto drops when turning. Ok so your saying no call for it in racing. Thanks, save me wasting my time on it. Cheers

It would bury the nose going into turns with the nozzle. Jeff Jacob's use to run a dual system. 2 levers. Drop nozzle for the starts and then he had drop trim tabs he would pull coming into turns. More to slow him down before hitting the turn.

You should ask this on pwctoday. I have seen a few old drop nozzles come up for sale over there and they sell pretty quick.

drop nozzles are used on basically every limited and GP ski, but only a very small portion of those those skis use a yamaha type pump/nozzle. Yahamas are typically found in stock/lites classes where you arent allowed to use a drop nozzle (ijsba anyways)

if you made an auto drop nozzle that fits a typical kawi pump, the older 140mm in the 2 stroke sxr and the 148mm pump in the new sxr1500, and they were priced better than a skat trak system, they would sell fast.

Thankyou, I will see if I can get a kawi exit nozzle and have a look at it.

Were the trim tabs adapted from sit downs? I remember seeing an article about his superjet somewhere that mentioned them just don't recall the specifics.

It was in Splash Magazine. They use to go test the winner of World Finals ski at Body Beach. One year he had a really fast setup, the next they toned it down and had more bottom and mid power.
