August 15th??? anyone want to ride with a Newbie

I'm thinking of driving down to the gulf the weekend of the 15th of august and was wondering if anyone with some experience would join me and maybe show me the "gulf coast freeride" ropes. Hopefully it will be my buddy and I but he isn't sure yet... I've already requested the leave so the only thing stopping me is having someone to go with. I'll probably be staying on a military base down there if I can find one with some rooms available. Let me know if you'd be interested in meeting up. Again I'm fairly new to the world of standups and this will be the first time in surf (if you can call it that).

oh man, thats the weekend of the ski races in Baytown.

I never make it to the races anyway. I'd much rather surf ride. Surf can be fickle in the summer months though so no guarantees.

I was thinking the Galveston area but I don't really care. I've never been down there and I don't really know where to go.

So my buddy confirmed that he will be joining me for the weekend. So it will be two surf newbies!!! We'll be down there friday evening through sunday night. Hopefully mother nature will help us out with some waves!
