Asus Eee Notebook

i'm looking at getting one for carrying around at school. My hp with a 17 inch screenis a little big to carry around. How is the atom? i've heard it was underpowered. I mean i know i can't do a ton on it but would it run mathcad and crappy flash games? how is it asfar as resolution? will i be scrolling to see all of every page?

I love my 701. My only complaint is that the screen on mine is a bit small. Side-to-side isn't bad at 800 pixels, but 480 vertical pixels ain't what they used to be. The newer 900s have a bigger display, but they are also slightly larger.

If you're okay with the Atom chip, you might also consider the HP Mini 1000. I had a chance to play with one last night. I didn't like the trackpad, but otherwise was impressed.

with the 25% cash back i can get a 10 inch one off ebay for 315 or the 8.9 900 for 230ish. does anyone have one with the atom? i'm just curious to know it it will seem slow. I mean most of the time i'll be surfing, and playing flash games. I'll have mathcad on there for sure, but my old p3 toughbook runs math cad so i'd hope an atom would, but i've seen where the atom in the eee benchmarks rather low, but in the same article they said that didnt represent real world performance of the eee. Basically i am seeing mixed reviews and want to hear from someone who has it.
