Are sbt cranks trued and welded?

Ive tried to find sbt's website to find out but cant seem to find any info from yahoo. I thought i recalled reading they were trued and welded cranks and if they are i will be buying one for a pretty good price but if they arent im wondering if i should avoid them. If anyone can shed some light on the subject please so as i will probably be picking up the crank in the next week or two if i decide to.

Im not sure how much other cranks are going for but i will probably be getting the SBT for ~$125.

Not trying to be negative but here is the skinny, the cranks are of course trued as they have to be trued to within a certain spec to run smoothly, the welding is a little different, it does positively lock in the true of the crankshaft but on reman cranks it is done more to cure sloppy press fits on the crank webs than for any other reason. The crank can be pressed apart and back together maybe once and maintain a decent press fit after that the press fit between the crankshaft webs and the pins is no longer acceptable to prevent twisting of the crankshaft , thus the pins are welded to prevent this from occurring. A lot of stock cranks have the pin made into one side of the crankshaft web, the webs are replaced with aftermarket webs that will accept a removable pin. The truing and welding is not just an SBT thing its pretty much done by most crank rebuilders across the board, I have been running a trued and welded R&R Jet tech crankshaft in my 550SX engine since 1992.

ive had so much water through my motor with the sbt cranks....... and its still kickin.

its plus another 100 bucks to ship there crank to you and you have to ship your crank back to them so its not truly 125 bucks.....
