Apology from SBT

and even in the pm he goes on to say that the rust cleaned up nicely. seriously even if that is the problem sbt claims it is, after only 20 hrs of light surface rust, would it cause enough damage to snag a ring if it was cleaned up?

the apology is nothing more than a an excuse to try and run Javier down.

do you blame him for worrying about leaving ANY wiggle room in the warranty?

SBT would deny the claim given the choice, look at the attitude there.

instead " yes sir, that is a problem, let me get you some new parts on the way, immediatly, im sorry for your inconvienence"

it was " you dont know how to install spark plugs, but since we are such great guys, we will give you some more used parts"

read carefully, the ring snag was NOT in the cylinder that had the rust ( the center one)

I think that post is more about discrediting Javiert than about apologizing.

It's a "Let's farck Javiert" thread with an "Apology" title.

But don't worry, it's not the way they ususally conduct business.

I swear.

its not really a HUGE deal, its a matter of principle, and integreity.
and SBT is proving, they are shady as hell.

the warranty says " sink it, overheat it, lean it..." and they will replace it, they BRAG about that in the documentation!

but now, since Javier got a bad engine, and spoke about it, they are using shady methods to try and discredit him?

PATHETIC.

yes , i know i read that, i am just saying if it had been , could this really even be the cause if it just wiped off with wd40?
i still think not and it's lame of them to try and portray that as the casue or the issue at hand

Pretty much summed up. It tries to discredit me while sorta owning up to reading PM's.

I figured he'd do it, I wasn't afraid to let that cat out of the bag, just voiding my warranty.

As mentioned, the surface rust formed overnight b/c I left my exhaust manifold off and didn't plug it. It wiped off with WD40 and a rag. It was in the center cylinder, the ring snag was in the front cylinder.

The failure was completely unrelated, but the post is designed to make it look like it was and that they did me a "favor" by warranty replacing the motor.
