Other Anyone ever try a Wavejammer out?

Someone's asked if I'm interested in buying their '94 750sx and '89 wavejammer because of a wanted ad I posted.
Never heard of a wave jammer before, they look pretty ridiculous if you ask me though.
Anyone ever try one out?

You want to ride la giraffe ;-) check out the PWC today kids motor swap build thread. and there is a video on you tube and any way they have almost the same demensions as a blaster. and I hear you can drift turn them and legw drag them. I would love to try one just to see how the Hull feels.. there was a chick that did freestyle on one back in the day in the 90's

Thanks for the quick response and tip, when I googled it all i got was a review from someone who "didnt like jet skis, only sit downs"

I'd like to be able to hit some 4-5 ft waves on it, looking at the shape it seems like it would cut right through the wave and shoot water in my face!
I have a 97 gti and 2002 gtxdl see-doo and they seem to splash a huge amount of water right at your eyes when you hit a wave certain ways. That and the fact there 6 and 800 pounds makes them pretty much only useful for towing wakeboard's\ski's or tubes. Wore goggles and was hitting 4 ft waves once and both knocked them right off my face.
I'm not looking for another couch! so do you think the wave jammer is very different?
Heres a pic of them, the guy says the 750 needs some glass work which I can do no problem, its at the back.

Me and my friend were going tovbuy one for $50a and take ot to the liquid milita team weekend this past year. Just to abuse it for comedy .. i was gonna ghost ride it Lol

Well I would say buy a x2 but if your worried about water in yo face buy a blaster. Its not a total "have to ride it ski" like a stand up or x2 but way better than a couch

A Wavejammer is much like a Wetbike in that you will only ride it once. They have no power, they slide around corners, they fall over when you stop, and they weigh 400lbs. A stock 701 will bolt in with a small clearance bubble on the hood. The pump will not even hold that much power so a 144 is a must. I will be completing a pump change to match the engine this winter. It is kinda like spending a lot of $$$ restoring a Pinto.

The WaveJammer is Yamahas first PWC. The 500 engine is actually one of their outboard motors layed on its side and then they made and new intake and put a carb on it. You can put a 650 in them easy with the Waverunner LS coupler and bed plates, but the little 130mm pump is what limits them from having to much power You could a 144 pump swap, but that would be waste of time on one of those little turds..lol

I say sell both of them and get a Superjet!

J/k man.. go have fun on them, that is all that matters!

it is a fixed steer waverunner 500
overpriced at $50
a single trailer will go down in value if it has a jammer on it

You are building a wavejammer? Pics? Build thread? A friend's dad did a frame off resto on a mustang II. Yes, a mustang II.

We have a Wave Jammer with a 650 in it and its actually a lot of fun to mess around on. They slide sideways forever! Ive taken it in the surf and beat the crap out of it. It would'nt break! The hood is so low you dont have to worry about it coming off. I also cut the side rails off of it like an X2. If you get one super cheap its worth it. Your gonna want a 650 in it for sure.

My wife actually rips on a Jammer! if you watch the movie Meatballs 4 ( one of the 50 worst movies of all time) she did the stunt riding for the actress's in the movie. Al Nunes (also in Meatballs 4) use to do the Sea World show and could do super long fountains because the air intake is at the top of the giraffe neck. You have to remember this was like 1990 and if not for the Jammer you wouldnt have the awesome Wave Blaster! We were all just trying to learn how to ride a 650 Superjet at that time. All the guys riding 550's laughed at the Superjet.

I towed one in 2 months ago. He said it was his first ski. Poor guy ran out of gas. First time ever seeing one in person...it looked ridiculous!

My Kids love the Jammer for power sliding, its one of their favorites. With the 650 in it, really does long power slides, and it was as fast as my 650 X2. A bigger pump would make a big difference, that will have to be a future project someday. Ill try and get some video of it in the surf for all Jammer haters.

Thanks for all the help everyone, a wave jammer seems like it would be a fun thing to have if you could find one for a good price. I'll keep my eyes open and the ad up.
I decided to pass on the deal the guy offered me though, he wanted 2500 for it and the 750 on a double trailer.
I picked up a yamaha fx-1 yesterday for a good price, so that'll be my winter project.
