Other Anyone ever seen this before?

I just picked up a set of 48 triple Blackjacks. The original pulse fittings are plugged. They have instead inserted a fitting on the middle of the pulse plate.

if it's done perfectly, the pulse job should be the same and the pipe routine sould be better , as we can see , carb are in parallel , in this way , the pulse line are (sometime ) in bad direction

Don't some stock carbs run a pulse line there as well?

OEM 44's have pulse lines coming from the middle like that into a T.
