i just laid some turf and went through one season on them. this was before i ever thought about refoaming. well anyways my SJ needs new foam but i dont really want to spend another $100 on a turf kit again when a little down the road its going to be painted...more turf needed. :banghead:

soo has anyone ever resulted to having to reuse turf haha:Banane01:

hydro-turf still have b-stock?

If you could get it back off without ripping it, you could re-use it, but I dont think you can do that easily.

I ordered some today, they still had the B grade turf.

if you had a squarenose, ive got some cut and ready to go in the grey diamond.

thats a good idea matt. i can buy some Bstock and try to remove the old stuff good enough to keep the pattern then just cut the new roll....

yeah its a square, remember the bracket?:wink:

is one roll good for the whole tray? or two?

how "b-grade" is it?

one sheet will easily do the tray and sides, and alot more if you cut it out carefully.

the pad is the most expensive part though, and its better if its doubled up.

Get new turf. Buy at least 2 sheets. It's so cheap that you might as well. I ordered 10 sheets of gray today.

Go under one of the edges with a putty knife and see how easy it is to lift the corner. If you are able to get a corner to lift then you should be able to drive the knife under the whole sheet. I have done this twice without a problem on JS550 and a XP mats. Saved the mats, cleaned them with some solvent and reused.:Banane01:

i agree with sfl, its not installed right if it comes off in one piece.

1 sheet was MORE than enough for me to turf my square tray, sides, rails, and dash. I probably could have done my chinpad to If i would have cut it jussst a liiiiittle bit different.

i have been enjoying it, no doubt. but i did a thread awhile back explaining how my ski is rediculously heavy and i wanted to figure out why. it took me and a buddy to lift his ski effortlessly (701,b-pipe,alum hande, a/m hood squarenose).

but mine takes 4 guys who actually struggle a little. (701,dry pipe, alum pole, etc., squarenose)

basically my thread was to see if mods would change weight, but it turned out not by that much. he also has a blowsion hood, but stock hoods dont weight 50lbs.

so i've descided im working with a one too heavy hull and i could get better use out of my motor if the hull were lighter. i only weight 140ish and my ski is reasonably built for good power. my buddy's boat has a shaved head, prop, and bpipe and it feels like its getting out of the water with me a lot smoother.

my square: 710cc, RAD, ada girdle, msd enhancer, type 4 dry, skat-trak, wamiltons single carb, boyseen reeds, hotrodz crank, freestyle ported, ww cone, 83mm nozzle.

buddys square: shaved stock head, b pipe, skat trak, single stocker carb (maybe tappored)

Actually the HT was put down over the stock stuff so what your looking at is the bottom of the stock pad....

SFL said it best ,do it right the first time and you won't be able to use it again .

turf is cheap ,even the top grade .4120 for your whols ki plus extra to scrww up .it takes 2 sheets to do a ski with tray, footholds,front panel(primer fuel select )rails and chinpad .
get 2 sheets and have extra for repairs or to returf the tray .:Banane01:
