No offense Emm, but you missed my point(s). Perhaps read it all again on another day.

I am not trying to argue if weightlifting is better than ballet. My point is your "facts" are wrong. You like to spew out random info, post videos, and post links but they are not correct. Why don't you take a sec and back away from youtube and ACTUALLY read what I posted.

You are not an expert on this subject. You don't even actively exercise. You can't even ride for more than 10 min without injuring yourself in some manner.

If you don't have anything worthwhile to say then keep your crazy out of my thread. I don't like having to scroll through pages of your nonsense to actually read something that makes sense.

Trust me, you are not someone that would offend me in any way so that is not even the issue.

Your words seem hostile, so I interpret that you are upset Emm (if so, I am sorry that you are)... maybe this will help:

I read about the program (elsewhere) that you are utilizing, prior to you initiating this thread. I think it is an excellent program, based upon my personal years of experience (which are many). I hope that you continue with it, for you seem passionate about it, which is good, and I think it can continue to benefit you, as well as others.

As for skis, I do not know if you even ride one, but I believe you do not, unless it is on occasion (no idea). If not, I hope that you will start, for it is great fun, and as you realize, that is what this site is about, stand-ups primarily. I recall you posting that you prefer to stay on the shore and drink beer (which is perfectly fine). I recall seeing you at two Tona Meets. I recall seeing you at Matanzas one time, and of course the surf is not viewable from there. So, I will expound upon your thoughts relative to injuries…

I have been injured while riding my ski twice, and that was from taking (what I was told) 8-12’ airs, flat landing both times unfortunately (neither wave was small). The first time was at Vilano in 2006, my first summer, and I knew nothing about stand-ups. I was having a blast too! That wave I caught my first “zero gravity”…just hanging in the air for what felt like a great eternity; I miss that feeling immensely too!!! The second time occurred shortly thereafter, and it probably could have been avoided, if I had not rushed back into the surf with my boot cast on my leg, like a dummie; yet, I was impatient to get back out there (I knew better too).

Anyone injured should consider such things, regardless of the athletic activity, and that is why I shared the information with everyone originally. After that, the specialist discovered I was at a precursor stage for osteo (runs in the family, and common to women); they advised me to surf ride instead. That was four years ago (think I have been riding a bit over seven years), and I have not been injured since (typically riding an average of three times a week, until recently due to responsibilities). You seem to bring it up in a hostile manner though, and so it really suited little purpose, until I clarified it for you and all. It really has nothing to do with your thread though, directly, yet it is good information now.

Stick with your program, or consider combining dance or gymnastics with it (or something else) as I suggested…entirely up to you. Again, I was offering you experience that I have had, and again, you can take it or leave it. I hope that helps.

You are right...I rarely ride...which is why I don't don't give out riding advice, etc. I suggest you do the same...stick with things you know.

Maybe you should spend more time with all of these "responsibilities" rather than typing worthless, self serving, self gratifying posts that do nothing for the actual thread other than stroke the ego of one of your many obvious personalities.

Trying different workouts is fun and keeps things fresh. I may have missed it, but have you tried insanity? It is currently insanely kicking my butt. I have also done p90x, but I have never tried crossfit. My wife is a personal trainer and I'm sure we will get to it eventually.

A co-worker did it and got great results from it.

I chose Crossfit because I need more than just body weight exercises. I need to build muscle and strength. Plus...I suck at working out alone. I like having a coach in my face at all times and struggling with a small group of people.

and olympic lifts are just freaking fun...haha!

My co-worker offered to loan me his copy of Insanity. I may throw it in my program just to help with my metcons and lean out more. I just don't know if my body can handle Crossfit 5 days a week AND Insanity!

I seriously doubt it can. Overtraining sucks. I think I'm going to combine the weights of p90x and the cardio and core training of insanity and do some of each every week. Maybe that is what crossfit is. I'll have to ask my wife about it again and hear about how she has already told me all about it and I never listen.

If you need an actual person in your face neither will work unless you find a partner to hold you accountable. Reading back through your thread does make crossfit sound interesting.

You definitely got GREAT results. Do whatever you enjoy. No program works if you don't do it and they all work if you stick with it. Good luck!

Careful, that is a loaded suggestion to someone who seems to know EVERYTHING:mischievous: That's why every thing does turn to crazy around here..lol

Keeping thread on CROSSFIT - keep it up. You've done an awesome job & yes it does help to have motivation from others while working out. I run with my ipod, but have found I do better with someone else. I didn't realize I had a competitive side until doing that.

I went to Woodstock, GA (home to Ronny Mac) for a Crossfit competition over the weekend to support several guys from my gym. I wasn't able to compete this year due to a high ankle sprain I received about halfway through "Murph" about 5 weeks ago.:Banane36:

Ronny snapped a few pics: http://ronnymac.exposuremanager.com/g/garage_games_2011

He lost all of the pics from day 1...which sucks but he was still able to grab a few good ones on Day 2. My peeps are all impressed with Ronny's skills. Welcome to a new world Ronny:wavey:

I have been doing it for about six months now. Due to schedule changes I have not been able to make it in for WOD's (the gym is 30 min from my house). So I have been doing them from home and making modifications for equipment I do not have. Working out at home got me thinking... for about 2 years Crossfit membership I can have a complete setup at my house. With gas prices it would pay for itself... I will be slowly building up my garage gym.. My favorite part is the getting a great full body workout in 5-30 min.. Not 2 hours in a gym... http://www.roguefitness.com/ has complete crossfit packages if you have the cash...

Awesome!! Keep it up!

You been keeping up with the Open that is going on right now? We are both competing in it although we have no chance of winning....I just don't want to come in last...haha! Plus I am hoping to make it through doing the WODs as RX'd. games.crossfit.com

which box did you go to? Evolution? My old neighbor used to go there before he moved. My hubby dropped in at the one that just opened in Cocoa Beach....he was not impressed.

My friend has the full rogue kit in her garage....with pull-up bar and rings. She rarely uses it since we have a super nice box here in Huntsville (www.crossfithuntsville.com)

I agree with you about the money...ours is pretty steep. If it goes up anymore I will be doing WODs in my friends garage and at a local gym here on base. I just hate to step foot back into a globo gym :shooter3:

Been at it a year and a half and I am still hooked :Banane09: (even though I was fat, lazy and wouldn't last a week...douche)

Reading most of this thread and thought sounds interesting and then I watched you get kookoo with your comments and start insulting peeps. You dont really even ride maybe it is time to find yourself a crossfit forum and pretend you are something special with crossfit buddies. Do you trust somebody that was frumpy and dumpy a few short years ago or someone that has practiced good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle for the past 20 years.

In case you haven't noticed, this thread is in the Heath & Fitness Forum, along with several other threads started by other members. I think it's safe to say that the X is diverse with it's topics & pretty cool that so many members have other interests in common besides skis.

You are all right and I was maybe a little bit out of line, Dont love suzi dont know suzi, Emm Dont know you either, Crossfit is a really exciting type of workout and I am interested to hear more about it or what you think or results. Sorry for jacking.

do it and don't look back. There are some punks in CF.....some elitists I guess you could say. I do realize it isn't the only way to workout but it has been the best for me and I despise working out. My head trainer left our box to work for CF headquarters so we are getting close to doing it at a globo gym but either way I will continue to do CF workouts and stick to eating paleo.

bottom line is you get results and it works:headbang:

I have really been into interval training for the last couple of years and that really gets it going, Right now I am getting to see changes in parts of my body I never really paid attention to. Funny how a 40 minute workout can change your day in such a possitive way.
