anyone cut bond line off?

how many of you have cut the bond line off your skis?

how did it effect handling?

er, thats what holds the ski together. itd probably sink... and be sluggish.... like a wet sponge.

how did he like it? did he do it again to his current ski? i think he cut it off to be "different" for the buildoff.

i'm not sure actually. I haven't talked to him about it... he cut it off his XFT hull... but he just got a new hull, and now E_roc_wilbs has this ski

on dans XFT hull they were torn of doing double rolls i beleive

its on a sxr so the bond line is a lil different than on a superjet! it has a lip under the bumper were the hulls connect?

how did it handle? slide out more?

i dont know how it handled never rode it but it just looked dangerous

i thought about doing it, to decrease the surface area when landing... but then you'd really have to reinforce the hell out of that area. Maybe doing it at the rear of the ski, to keep drag down if you are back flipping... but, i don't think i would do the entire bond line.

id be afraid of the hull splitting if you cut it all off.

lol That wasn't on purpose. Double roll tore them things off.

I removed some from the back of the ski & it made a big difference. It let the tail drop and raised the nose.

that would help the sxr out alot!

im thinking of just taking the back bond/bumper off!

I cut the rear out to reduce drag and also cut about 3/4" off the bondline lip. I handles great for freestyle.

There is a picture on here someplace of the rear of Malone's practice ski. He cut the whole rear off of his SXR bottomed, Polaris topped boat. He said it was better for the tilt and BF's.
