Anybody ever make their square nose front end into a round?

So far i have done the slutty hood mod, shortened my hull 2 inches, repaired the bottom, defoamed, removed rear exhaust, removed stock bilge. Next on the list is reinforcing pole mounts, sides, refoaming. Should i cut the stock pole and how much and has anybody ever cut the front of their ski round and made some kind of mold to make it round???

I would say get a roundnose pole and conversion bracket
Do an internal fuel fill mod and glass over the fuel filler door and shape to your liking
Turf the front nose where the rubber is and call it a day as far and modding the square front.
Reinforce under the pole bracket and anywhere else.

Yes, I have been dragging butt on this project. But I have actualy been working on it lately. What Fitz designed was a front nose piece replacement. His was a glass on piece. I have taken his piece & revamped it, to be a bolt on/removable part. As of now, the final stages are being finished. Production parts should be avail before Christmas. I'll try to get some pics next week. Steve, Has a complete Top Deck replacement for the Square. This is no where near the work.

In the end I don't even really see it being that much cheaper. :dunno:

I'm doing mine for several reasons:
1. The hull was free
2. I'd rather work in the garage than watch TV
3. It's only costing me time and fiberglass cloth
4. I can't afford a lightweight hull or anything that would be competitive in the buildoff
5. I've had some ideas for new stuff that I've wanted to try
6. Wife won't let me buy a round nose.
7. I can spend the real money on XMW stuff and the engine.

But it's a "looks-only" thing, is it not? (There isn't anything wrong with that)

Nope, mine is going to be more hydrodynamically smooth to do better subs. :Banane01: Actually it is just for looks. I guess the closest thing to relate it to would be building a hotrod or custom bike or something.

i see where your coming from but its just hard to modify a square cuz everything on the ski is well, square. Id like a lil more roundness to the nose or just get rid of the rubber peice but the hood, pole, and rear parts of the ski are still boxy.
