And when people say "hit it with an impact gun" what do they mean? Do up the puller with the impact gun?

You can tighten it down and hit the center bolt with hammer, takes a time or two but itll eventualy pop, and yes impact on center bolt but doesnt always work, i just use harmonic balancer puller from harbor freight

A hit with the impact gun is just to use the gun in quick spurts. What works best for me was to use the puller and tighten it up. Then tap on the end of the rod, tighten some more, then tap again. Repeat until it just pops off. The pop off catches you off guard too because its sometimes a loud bang

I recently had to pull a fly wheel off a kawi 650 that had never been removed before. I had so much torque on the thing it snapped the nose off the flywheel puller. Had to use an ez out and drill to remove it but it came out. It was the toughest flywheel I had ever removed.

After the fact my dad told me to get a bolt the same thread type as the flywheel bolt drill an indention into the head of the bolt and put the puller end on that. Worked like a charm when I was replacing the flywheel on my SJ.
