Any Phoenix, AZ riders out there?

I might be spending some time in the Phoenix/Surprise, AZ area, I'm considering bringing my ski.

Can anyone chime in on:

What's the riding like?
Are their any places that are safe for flatwater freestyle? (no traffic, angry cops, fishermen)
Is there anywhere to purchase race fuel?
Are there many people to ride with?

Any input would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Yup, we are all on that page. There are 4 lakes within a 1hr drive from central phoenix. Lots of guys who are out skiing right now, those crazy f'ers. I wait until its warm.
