it seems every time i come back from riding my nose is sooo stuffed up and my ears are all outta wack.

im sitting here right not not even being able to breathe out of my nose.

the ear part i can understand from falling and such.

but my nose is bothering the hell outta me :frown:

yeah - in saltwater when you get done riding, you come up on the beach and blow a big snotball out your nose....riding is definately the best thing I've ever done for clearing the sinuses

I swab my ears out with alcohol & drip a couple of drops down the canal. As far as your nose, get some saliene nose spray & see if that helps. It usually does the trick for me.

or when you're playing putt putt with your daughter that evening and everytime you bend down to get your ball saltwater pours out your nose. i guess it's in that sinus cavity that doesnt drain until upside down.

I get stuffed up so bad I am thinking of quitting. Usually lasts for over two days. Spraying Claretin up my nose clears me up for about 12 hours but I try not to use it that often. I tried using a saline solution but it didn't do much.

my only other guess would be wearing a helmet, which would eliminate the ear problems and possibly the nose

When I was little I got bad ear infections every time I went in the water. I had to wear silicone earplugs to keep the water out. You could try some of these. You can find them at a Walgreens or Rite Aid near you. The ones I got used to come in a clear box and there were 5 round chunks of silicone in them (can make 10 earplugs). You can reuse them until they get dirty.

AHAHAHAHAHA DUDE, I did that only with this stuff called Swim ear, which is like 99% alcohol.
I had a perforated eardrum and thought it was water in my ear too. I was yelling and flopping on the floor like a flailing fish! My cousin was there with his girlfriend and they were laughing their asses off. They thought I was faking it! OMG, that sucked!

It felt like someone just shoved a knife into my ear!:17:

Sounds like possibly an alergy reaction to me. Try some antihistamines
before you go out. I've never had an issure with water, but have other allergies and I can tell you the trick is to preempt it rather than try to treat the attack afterward.

2 votes for the allergy medication. I don't 'usually' have issues with allergies, but our lake gets so full of pollen, that after doing face-plants in it for a couple hours, it messes me up pretty bad. Chlortrimetron(sp) usually helps.

haha yea i did the same thing. i was in the bathroom taking water from the sink and splashing it at my face trying to get it out. there was water all over the place from me flappin around. definately sucked.
