Other Any of you guys ever get the itch to ride an old ski?

After watching this video of mark gomez's 550 It really made me miss my old 550sx. Didn't have much balls, but it sure was fun. Sometimes I just get sick of my superjets stability. The 550 was so loose it was a blast. I'm thinking about buying an old project ski now to mess with through the winter.:smashfreakB:

I know the guy who I sold my 78 JS440 to. I rode it after I purchased my FX1.
I could barely ride it cause I was laughing so hard... what a dog.

A buddie of mine just picked up a wave jammer that he can't wait to try out. Pump is in good shape and it fired up fine. When the oppertunity to ride something goofy comes up, you have to at least try it. On a side note. What did the designers pitch sound like, when it was pitched to Yamaha? Anybody ever get to ride one of these? I hope to try it out myself.

I just picked up a clean old js440 from a guy in washoe valley. 150 bucks the hull hardly has a scratch on it. cleaned the plugs, and fuel lines and new battery and it fired right up. I will let my son learn to ride on it.

I'm moved by DASA power!
I've ridden a wavejammer and it's pretty much uncomfortable in any riding position. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure any ski is better than no ski. I think my itch to ride an older ski hits the barrier at about the wb1. We sold our old wavejammer in 2005 for $800. And our 2 old 9 ft long yamaha waverunner 1 500s for $1000 each The same year. I don't miss them.

I have a blast on the old stuff and have owned about everything including a jammer I am sad to say, biggest POS ever made! Have a 88 waverunner one that sits outside year round at our cabin, never winterized, never charge the battery, run what ever junk oil and fuel I find leftover at the cabin from the last 30 years, and it starts and runs like a champ! We fight over riding it while the SHO sits on the beach! Just picked up a 300sx, 550sx, and a X-2, can't wait to ride them, I miss my X-2. The videos of the old 550's racing are amazing to watch, those guys had some serious ability!

For those of us who are old enough...

Yes..the hood was built for hood tricks, more so than the sj.

Do I think it was better? No.
It took a few rides to get used to the hull, but my bone stock rn sj was amazing to me the first time I rode it.. Power, turning.....

The old ski's are cool. They will always have a place in my heart.
Which is why builds like the one Foximus did are interesting to me.

A long lost buddie rides 440's and 550's and I can't wait to get on them this summer.

FlightPlanDan brings up a familiar point about the rn. We've owned a couple 650sx's and a 750sxi which we loved, but the first time I took my rn for a ride it was instant love. Then found out that tricks are way more fun than... The X taught me that.
