alright peeps, i need to build something to attach to my dock to keep my ski's out of the water, looking for a budget build......cheap budget build......i thought about building a ramp to just run them up on the dock, i have that figured out fairly well, but i wanted to see what the minds here could come up with

The Good Old Days
Since it only has to be a couple of inches above the water why not a couple bunks with one end turned down under the water.
You could add a walkway on either side and just ride up onto the bunks.

the real tricks is underneath the ski,,
i'll get pics monday

very easy took me 1 trip to lowes and about $20 (wood was free) and about 2hrs to get it to what you see.. easy fast reliable, space saver. I can also add a hand crank wench, but brapping it up was easer than i thought... but Warning, i have gassed it a few times up and over the other end of the dock. MAKE SURE!! nothing is on the other end, like a boat or ski... or dog:bigeyes:

Dude I would do like Grifnasty posted make the ramp EXACT and then put a stopper at the top of it so that the ski won't go all the way across the dock and then hit that thing with the right speed and you would slide up and onto the dock. The momentum will make it ride the rails up untill it gets to the pivot and flattnes out. Put a limiting rope on the bottom of the ramp to the dock so that when you hit it the ramp doesn't go vertical. That would be a blast. Then spin the ski around and have it facing out for the next time when you want to take off. Start the ski and lean foreward and then ride out of the sub...

That sound like fun I might have to build one of these so that we can play at the cabin.. :splatt:

PS: and look at the tight space i'm working with, i got a dock pillard almost dead center on the approach and about 2-3inches on each side once i get on top o_0
but works great, and not in the way of anything else

Just ride
yeah definetly use some bunk sliders, it will make it a lot easier to pull it on the dock. Make sure no screws or nails are sticking up it will tear you bottom of you ski up. We built a nice 8x10 docklast summer for a few hundred bucks with the foam and all. The foam was the cheapest thing, all the carriage bolt and galvanized stuff is the most expensive. I would not recommend building a ramp into the water on the end of the dock because it will get real slippery and get beaten up real bad. Three stand ups sit on the dock we made no problem. Dont use the tek deck wood stuff it is very slipperf for a ski to sit on and if your feet are wet or if you have some riden shoes on that are wet it is very slippery. its a little dark but this picture has all three skis sitting on the dock and we have two jet docks attached to one side.

Hey Grif,, we shouldn't have said anything about the ramp going vertical... But someone would have needed to catch it on video. He would have looked like this :banghead:
