I tip my hat to you. Your right. I just tested the idea with some water and a cup. It pushes water into the ski lol. Thx for the heads up

A big part of learning is learning who to listen to.

Try the Y and also putting a restriction in the tube going to the bilge. You need to create a pressure drop across an orifice to create a vacuum. The greater the differential, the greater the suction. Unfortunately, by the time you achieve adequate suction with a 3/8 line, it will be so restricted, it won't move a high enough volume to be useful. Still a good practical test of theory though.

I understand what creates the suction, the venturi effect behind the line that pulls the water through.. I understand what your saying.

mine is a kwak style and it works pretty good. just remember to loop the line up as high as you can towards the hood and put a little slit in it. if you dont and the tube is full of water, it will siphon back into the ski while it is not moving :) the slit will suck air and make a break in the siphon effect :)

Ok guys. Here's my opinion on the Solas mag pump. Decently heavy, very well built, had no problems with installation what so ever. In conjunction with my Solas concord 13/18 set back swirl prop, this pump worked great! I did some hardcore freestyle and the pump stayed glued the whole time! NOT ONCE DID IT CAVITATE AT ALL! ZERO CAVITATION OR SLACK IN PULL, PICKS UP INSTANTLY!!! In really choppy water my ski stayed glued to it and kept going! Great value for the money. One more thing , I noticed very little bottom end improvement, but I'm not running a beefed up motor, my engine e just has a girdled head (soon to get a factory pipe :p ) and of course an AF flame arrestor. So I don't think the bottom end hype would be much felt with my setup. But overall this is a great bang for the buck, and you will stay hooked up all the way through! It won't let go or cavitate at all! At least to my experiance***
