Another Freeride RN Build

The turf is stuck pretty good to the padding, so cutting out a pattern and removing the peice to fit another in would rip the padding.

i could grind down the turf in a pattern and glue a piece of black over the top though,:cool2:

thanks, you just gave me extra work tonight...:sneaky:

i didnt think you already turfed the tray area. show some pics!

d'oh! ya mean the one with the jack and coke? at least i saw SOMETHING in the pic.

you could patch something in now, but itd take a lot of work to make it look good. id leave it. its clean.:arms:

I might try and get something in later, but in the meantime I need to get the rear corners turfed tonight, and the pump in.

Steering and engine come out tomorrow night if we ride tomorrow.

Ok, thanks Charlie for making me feel lazy!:lightning:

I decided to add a matching diamond like symbol as I had on the chin pad.

1 - Cut out pattern
2 - Cut out turf piece
3 - Trace turf piece on tray
4 - cut through diamond in tray with razor blade, making sure you do not go through the turf all the way.
5- use dremel and air grinder to remove the diamond within the pattern
6- glue and stick

You should have made that back section black diamond. Like you did the front. The diamond is cool, considering its different than most. :woot: Always cool work though Rick!

I agree and I was going to do the entire tray in black at one point, but I did not have enough black with the diamonds running the correct way.:banghead:

Whatever the tray is, has to run back over the bond rail to give the turf a good bite and just doing the corners would have looked funny.

Looks awesome. Did you make the pole / hood cushion thing yourself? If so how?

Yes i did, but to be honest it was copied off what SFL does.

I took two layers of 25mm padding cut in the shape I wanted, then wrapped a layer of turf around the sides, then plonked on on top.

It's big, but I wanted it this way, as I'm running a -4 pole and x-metal shortened turnplate with straight bars. Probably a -6+ setup all together.

I did not want the pole slamming into the hood, I have too much $$$ in that particular part and would probably end up crying like a baby... .

Well, since I do not have the bigbore finished and the square is getting a face lift starting today, I decided to put the engine and pipe from the square into the roundie.

Welll....

The first start backfired so bad, 8/11 houses in my culdesac came out to see who got shot. This also blew the pipe off the exhaust tee (must not have been very tight)

Second start, same backfire, realized I forgot to tighten the b-pipe head pipe.:skull2:

At this stage I was about to give up, but got it to a stage where I could take it down to the local canal.:hail:

First run and the pisser never starts flowing, so I turn right back to the ramp.:bs2: There was a slight obstruction in the reducer going to the pisser.:banghead:

clean that out and take it for it's second voyage, the pisser starts drizziling and never flows, so I take it back to shore.:banghead:

Bye this stage it was t -7 hours to Santa arriving, so I gave up and headed back home. I will download some pics of the maiden voyage later.

Since the engine/exhaust and cooling hoses came out of a running ski, I have absolutely no idea what is wrong.....

Oh well, gives me something to sort out next week.:Banane01:

Have a very merry Christmas all!:beerchug:
