out on the SXR for a few minutes on sunday, earned a 6 hour stay in the ER with this beauty. the "Never ride alone" rule saved my ass that day - thankfully i had a friend with me and a neighbor not far way with a boat.
no footholds or anything like that, just a simple limited setup - not a good story unfortunately, i was out for about 10 minutes, totally flat water, cruising at about 1/2 throttle and i started a right turn, leaned in a little, and my ankle literally just snapped ...
I had a similar break a few yrs back while running and didnt see a hole in the grass! Now i have a plate in there, worries me how bad it might break with the plate in ouch. Good luck with the surgery enjoy the heartbeat in ur ankle jk!!
seriously ... I still can't comprehend how it broke - just one of those scenarios where i shifted my weight just the wrong way I guess ...
Anyway surgery went fine, 1 plate & 5 screws on the fib, 2 screws in the tib, and two more screws to temporally hold some tendons or ligaments in place which have to come out in three months. after that I can start physical therapy ...
