Amsoil hp marine

Anyone ever use the Amsoil hp marine. I know most people use dominator, but it isn’t tcw3. What do most of you use in your freestyle skis with powervalves? I want to stick to Amsoil

If you have to have Amsoil, honestly any of them will be fine.
I wouldn't worry too much about the TCW-3 as any engine in your ski with a powervalve is going to be pricy so you should be fogging at the end of the day anyways. Unless that is you really don't care about your engine enough to fog but then you really shouldn't care about an expensive oil either, LOL.

There was another thread to check out too...

Ran an 1100 about 60 hrs last season on supertec. Looked better than my buddies 1000 at 30 hrs on amsoil. Change from 2t to tcw3 after talking to oil analysis company.

I get redline for free from work. I still choose supertec because it's corrosion protection is far superior.

Did you call a Rep or a Tech line?.... Says right on the bottles: Interceptor is for Power Valve motors and Dominator is for NON Power valve. Both are rated higher than TC-W3.
Dominator says it can be used for exhaust pvs. I have a gallon of dominator. And tcw3 is the main spec for marine engines. Tcw3 is ashless. It burns cleaner than a low ash oil. I was wondering if it just offered enough protection. After talking to a bunch of people, hp marine sounds like the best choice for me. I run dominator in the bikes

Protection is relative. Conventional absolutely offers better corrosion protection. It's been proven many times. Synthetic is on the fence. It seems to be able to handle heat better, and possibly slightly higher lubricity. I feel like corrosion does more damage from sitting, than the heat of a properly tuned engine.

Fwiw a ton of people told me I'd blow my dasa up if I ran supertec. I saw absolutely no change in wear going from synthetic redline to supertec. So take it all with a grain of salt. Most engine failures are a direct result of operator error. Not oil brand.

Yeah that’s true. I’m gonna stick with the hp marine, but are you still running super tech? How are the power valves? Just wondering

The ash is the high heat detergent package. It forms a dry barrier that carbon wont stick to. It is seldom a problem in watercraft engines, at worst it may cause a fouled plug. I'm on my fourth 5/gal pail of Maxima Super M which has a low ash package and have not fouled a plug yet. Common TCW3 performs nearly identically in waterctaft as far as cleanliness is concerned. These two oils perform much differently in small air cooled engines, the TCW3 turns to black gunk.
