I met Chads dad skip last night at Kokomo in the beer line so I watched out for him when he made his run. Chad's ski was having issues and he only had 1 hour practice time on the new hull but he looked good ski quit on him in the last 30 seconds so that hurt him. He didnt make top 5 though.

The amateurs are way different form what is used to be 3 years ago.

First i would like to say i think it is cool that females are competeting now !! That was great...been about time !

But we are talking backflips, barrel combinations, flarrel rolls.../huge steps up from what it used to be, still missing the old school stuff , so mostly dominated by cc's .

Anyway orange/yellow ski forgot the name raddi or so was best in my opinion, the only one that pulled clean backflips and barrel rolls, EME team was good but good... have been better...and personal opinion judging was weird, the old school guy that normaly competes with a sit down had a really clean run. too..

just my 0.2

thx

Chris

Yeah, the judging was not perfect, but it was a good event. I don't like the hidden scores either. Here is a couple pictures and I will post more soon..

OK I just left Kokomos so i've had a few and heres the truth Spencer Wells was the best he was the cleanest . As far as the amateur class its a joke, if your riding a custom carbon fiber hull with a built motor your not a amateur. To me amateur means broke dude with skills and some what of a stock ski, But i've been drinking. Also Chad Cummins won the dancing contest and quickest drunk contest at Kokomos.

Just another example to me of selective rules enforcement by the IJSBA. I'm glad I don't compete anymore.

How the heck is the RRP FS-1 competing when it's not even for sale yet?

Werd... 3-4000 in travel for 2 mins.. No Thank you !
I will save and get to one IFWA event a year... Hopefully if in states.
Go there and get to ride multiple heats for 10-15 mins...
And not one ski check... Rip what ya got... :arms:

BUt Big props to the guys that travel and compete.....
I cant afford it...

Yeah, it tough on judging, but everything about right -- we all have are own views. The RRP is allowed to ride because it somewhat looks (the deck) like at Yamaha (sqaurenose)... Honestly myself it seems to look like at Hydrospace, but yes maybe both, just have to look like something is the basic rule.

Big fun here!!!!

its a disguised hydrospace...interesting is that the handlepole mounts way upfront on the ski and great is that you can adjust the footholds in any direction and even make them bigger.

WHAT?!!? I thought the rule was that it had be the same general size and shape, while being recognizable as a model homologated for use in competition. So why even have a rule if it's going to be so blatantly ignored?
Now I can see a 2008 EME800 being mistaken for a Polaris Octane, but the Fs1 is a huge departure from any previous model.

One more thing I just figured thats when I watched the amateurs it would be parent and buddies of the rider in the pits not the motor builder, hull manufacture ,and freestyle coach. This is my first event so I really didnt know what to expect. They should add a class in between pros and amateurs.
