What are your thoughts on Aluminum pole on 1990 SN sj701??

I just got another SJ and it has an aluminum pole. Im thinking about swaping it over to my mint 1990 superjet with a 701 in it!

Is it worth it?
Do the stock poles break often??

I have an ac aluminum pole on my sn. I like it but I've never rode a sn with a stock pole. If I were you maybe Id look into a rn pole conversion - somthing(2) and then reinforced in carbon.

change it over.

when i had my SN i spent an entire winter building it as a back up... my first ride out i did a small over-rotated nose stab and snapped it in 1/2.

the following week i put an AC aluminum pole on it.

I prefer a stock roundnose pole on the square. Lighter, better looking, cheaper.

There are several ways to make it work. Grinding stock bracket, shimming with washers or finding a conversion bracket.

i agree... I like the look better... but he has a SN aluminum pole he was talking about swapping over... so it wouldn't cost him anything.

Get the Ac Pole, get an aftermarket spring ( you will need it ) get a replacement handlepole braket ( this will break before the ac pole will )...

I have AC poles on both my Sn's never had any problems again...
