Has anyone ever used anything other than an xmetal pole with a 247 hood. my stock pole is just not going to cut it.

any pole will work, even stock. just be sure to run a lowered bracket.

my stock pole does not sit well at all on there. the stock pole has an angle on it back towards the turnplate that does not comform very good. xft and xmetals have more of a gradual bend without as sharp of an angle back towards the turn plate. with the stock pole just laying in the trough the bottom underside of the pole is barely below the very top of the hood.

I ran one like that for a while (stock pole on 24/7 hood) and it worked fine. I later tried a UMI which looked horrible on there and then an AC which looked about like the stock one.
Finally, I bit the bullet and ordered the X-metal... best looking IMO (see sig pic)

Mark ( 24-7 )had a RRP on his ski at FSF. I thought it looked and worked nicely. He did mention that he liked the x-metal pole quite a bit, though.
