compression was 150/150 last time i checked. i also have the old 650 waterbox and a very poorly tuned carb. possibly the exhaust manifold/chamber from the 650 as well. if fixing those doesnt work ill do a leakdown test, but untill then i wont worry about it, because i dont have a leakdown tester

the650 fiberglass waterbox will be fine , but it sounds like you have a leaky needle and seat, hence why the plugs are loading up really bad. be careful, a bunch of extra fuel / fumes in the engine can cause a backfire on startup. one good backfire will blow the waterbox to pieces

the plugs arent loading up, thats the strange thing. they look almost brand new, no gunk or visible buildup. another local rider said he had the same issue and a carb cleaning did the trick. maybe its the gas or oil i use. ill send a pic when i get home
