aftermarket hull and midmount bearing housing

on most aftermarket hulls the bulkhead is flat with no recess for the midbearing housing's lip seal unlike the oem hull.
what mods need to be done to bearing mount?just cut off seal lip?then silicone for a seal?

Don't cut the seal, it will compress . use 4200 or silicone.
