Quick question for anyone wanting to answer and I am sure there is a lot of opinion out there on it.

My 701 is running 185 psi in both cyl's. Is there any reason to go to an aftermarket head girdled or ungirlded if I want to keep running pump gas?

The stock head was shaved (don't know specs, done by previous owner) and the rest of the set up is dual full spectrum's, b-pipe, and advent ignition.

if you are already at 185, the only reason you would need an aftermarket head is to go higher with the compression, and run a girdled setup to keep the base of the cylinder from cracking.

I would go with a girdle setup. I've seen them crack, and that is a total loss on the cylinder.
