Aftermarket Fuel Filters

Anyone find a direct AM replacement for the OEM fuel filter? Needs to have the mesh filter inside, as I have heard the paper filters swell shut.

I have issues paying $15 for a damn fuel filter...:bs2:

JSS for 4 bucks each. Little clear ones with a filter element about 4 times the size of the internal mikuni carb ones, cleanable as well, had one on for 2 seasons, still clear and working good

I saw that in the tech section, and they are all paper filters... Not keen on paper filters, and am leaning towards the JSS filters...

Anyone else?

Personal choice.

I have heard that the paper filter swells over time when running premix, possibly causing the engines to run lean.

I might have to call the Myth Busters on this...:biggrin:

Several of us locally have been using them with fine results. Some for years. :dunno:
Leaves more in the system for us.

paper filters are junk. i used to use them and not only would they swell up and become restrictive, theyd also come apart and clog internal carb filters.

My old square had a JSS style filter on it and it was fine the whole time I had it; that is, after I reversed the filter because the prior owner had it installed backwards! -Kurt

YES, it goes on the opposite you would think it does. Works either way, but when you think about it, the way its marked is much, much better, lets you see all the junk!
