what about the footstraps.. I wont be jumping on the ocean or anything...

unless you are totally set on flatwater "freestyle" straps are great..it you like carving around and jumping off wakes and stuff they are the way to go(mount em in surfstance)...if your goal in life is to do a flatwater br then yea footwells are a must but for the average rider straps are alot easier, cheaper and teach better riding techinques for the recreational rider

and if you ever go in the surf you are all ready!

you dont say?!?!?!

I've been playing with a ski with foot holds (mine has lifters) and I'm not sold on them yet. I actually like the lifters in most cases. I ride surf stance. I cant just stand in the back of my tray porpoiseing away.

I have footholds and ride surf stance until I jump. Seems to hurt my front knee too much. I want to add a strap to it so I can be more comfortable. I'm sure my knee hurts from coming out of the tray, then back into it and jamming.

I used to ride surf stance all the time. I made myself ride with both feet back and its way better for most stuff. In surf stance I was along for the ride. with both feet back I really have a lot more control of the ski.

I can see that. Did you have straps at all riding surf stance? :dunno: I like riding surf stance other than when I jump.

try jumping in surfstance with straps..twice the control plus you dont look silly..like i said for flatwater brs and stuff you cant do it but for everything else its the only way..i dont know how you could have more control in the back..you cant do a real turn back there so it limits what you can do

I feel just the opposite.

In surf stance I can weight my feet differently to make the ski do/go where I want more efficiently. planting me feet to the rear only seems to give me an advantage when bringing the ski nose up.

Maybe it's from all the years of waterskiing/surfing etc. it's just more controlled for me.

ha...still im in the air.. 95 % of the time im estimating i will be on lake water. i do not see myself doing barrel rolls or backflips.. but stabs, subs etc... the more easier tricks to learn, ill get to doing.

can someone clarify to me surf stance ? ? there no one my lake that rides standsup but i bump into people that used to ride the 440s years ago..

is surf, left foot forward face straight. and right foot back straight..or should i let my feet face to the right like cruising a skateboard..

most of the time i ride i have feet in the back...

just like you would stand on a surfboard/skate/snowboard...whereever it feels comfortable for you..BUT put your front foot farther forward then you would think cause you will probally end up moving it like i did

Just wanted to say I"m about 90% done with my hold install.. It hasn't been that difficult, just labor intensive (alot of sanding) But you can totally do it. I've just been askin questions as I go! All I got left is to glass over the holds and lay my mat!
