SX/SXi/SXi Pro Advice with 750 SXI PRO

I have a 1998 750 SXI Pro, and im looking to buy some aftermarket parts and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice and maybe some websites to buy parts..i want to put a new intake grate and ride plate..i ride in mostly rivers and lakes, and was wondering what combo would work best..and im also looking for some aftemarket handle bars and new grips..can anyone help?

I have a 98 also . The best combo is and R&D duel scoop grate and an R&D extended ride plate. I also just picked up JRE ( jet race engineering) quick turn plate , with solid billet bars. and picked up ODI lock on grips. The JRE setup puts you like 2+ inches closer to the front of the ski . And the bars can be set in 4 diffrent positions. And if you want more low end , get a Blowsion freestyle pump cone. Wet wolf is good also. You will lose a little bit of top end with pump cone. Im still learning about the sxi pro , ive got plans for mine . The sxi pro is a great ski and is alot of fun , but if you want to flip or stunt, you will want a superjet some day .

Fast learner, I like the last line about the superjet. Unfortunately your right

To answer your question, I would do the R&D grate and plate for handling and Tubbie 2's if you have the cash. As for power, factory limited pipe, mill stock head for highier compression, 9/17 skat swirl impeller, stubby pump cone. and oh yeah, FOOTHOLDS. Thats a good start for mods and then it just spirals out of control to the point you have three times the money tied up in mods then you do in the ski lol

Find a Factory dry pipe, a good prop, and larger nozzle. Tune the carbs so pistons wont melt, thats about all that can be done power wise on pump gas. If you want to mess with compression, timing, or even open flame arrestors then buy a spare set of pistons first.

how far can you go on the head? i took off .035" and i barely noticed A difference. 160 psi in each cyl....

ok... i work at a machine shop. i had a spare head so i took .080 off it and i have no squish.. thats why i only went so far with this one. I had a 650 that was done up by team butch racing and the stock head was machined .050 smaller than a stock 650 head but i have no idea how similar that would be on the sxi.

any chance you could find out how much he took off?
