How much money are you guys really saving by getting the Terry Cable? :scratchchin:

The Pro-Tec cable is 47.95 plus shipping and it has adjustment fitting with the barrels on both ends.

It looks like the terry cable I got will work with my v-brake lever with a little modification. I didn't realize the v-brake lever didn't have threads for a cable. it's held in under pressure.

it used to be $30. it's now $40. this cable is verry thick. I'm suprised to hear it streaches.

when i have the lever pulled and the trim at full tilt im able to push down on the pump and it will almost go straight again. How much force is there when water is shooting out of it?

a lot more than that I would think. I don't think my cable will streach like that. are you sure that your mounting points are solid?

it seems the fitting on the end of the steering cable is the limiting factor of free movement on my trim system. I'm thinking of going with a sea-doo type of end.

Yup. Thats what i have on mine. It was left over form when i parted out my 96 XP. Sounds likes your figuring it all out. Also you might have to grind some off the steering cable ends to make things work out right for ya.

Here is a pic of the throw i have also.

Guys you can have any end put on the cable you want, just tell Terry cable the thread size you want on the sheath and what kind of connectors on the wire ripe and how long you want the cable. They can make anything you want.

I pulled it up. just had a quick question about the nozzle, gonna try and see if I can get more throw out of it, may play with pivot locations and such.

I had the whole Raider set-up, but went with the SJ pump nozzle and welded alum tabs and used the Raider trim ring and steering nozzle. You can get more throw with it that way, but its more work and it makes sense when you figure everything out.. Plus the SJ pump nozzle is longer that the Raider and designed to work with the SJ.
What I did was basically copy from Freestylegeeks CATS set-up.

BTW - if anyone needs a like new Raider pump nozzle I have for $55 shipped.

what model Tektro levers is everyone using?
or are you using the AVID Speed Dial Ti levers?
or something else?

the later raider nozzle is better. it has rubber tabs to reduce blow buy on extreme angles.

the terry cable fell apart on me. I'm buying the pro-tec cable next.

also, don't pinch bolt the cable end down to the end of trim ring, it'll break. you need to use a pivot end. 0.# came up with a great barrel end that i'm going to use next.

The cable also needs to come out of the sheath straight or it will rub through and you are correct never pinch a wire rope that becomes a breaking point. You can order just a new wire rope from Terry I think they are $12-14 bucks, no need to replace the entire sheath.

Its usually never the cables fault its the installation.
