I'm going to thow a guess out there cause I can't do them either but from what i've seen, pull the bar closer to your waist and lean into it on aproach. Am I close? Looks like you got the setup down pat.:arms:

looks oddly like my video i did today lol Im working on the same thing. I thought alot of it looked good. But you might be having the same issue I am of not lifting your legs enough so you end up fighting your own body when trying to push forward on your bars. Im working on getting myfeet up more in the initial kick so that it should be like a sub just a simple forward nudge on the bars and down she goes. At least thats my .02 but Im at the same point as you it looks like so Im no expert. But hope that thought helps

When your doing them on flatwater, do a bunny hop while turning the bars slightly the oppisite way you are going to do a stab (just like the way you see guys do a set up hop for flatwater barrel rolls) when you do the setup hop make sure you keep your nose level i.e. don't do a hop with your nose up in the air. then when you go to do the stab turn the bars, the way you are going to do the stab, fast and gas it. Make sure you are keeping your weight forward usually stay above the chinpad and you should get a nice stab.

sweet video man, wheres the music? when i do my stabs i don't really prehop i just blip the throttle to unweigh the ski and crank the bars while pulling my feet up. i got a vid that shows me doing some stabs with a bit of a sore back from hyperxtending myself like a banana on a stab. :banghead: on the ones that i try to rotate hard they end up in a bronco:biggthumpup: not that i got any on vids but i swear it does happen:rolleyes: anyways here is the vid i supmitted for the barrel roll challeged club, ignore the inside jokes in the credits lol

I did not land it but you can see how I throw my body. I need to get more video of myself riding

you get some good rotation on that, i am going to try a bigger angled prehop to give me a bit more time in the water for some rotation. yes get more video, i have learned from watching my self ride, mostly how much i still need to improve everywherre but thats what makes riding so fun i feel i get better every time i go out. i also have had one ski between two guys so might as well film while waiting.

Freesyleriverrat, your stabs look real good. Try to you use some extra throttle when you go underwater in the stab and it should give you enough contol to bring the ski back out of the water.

i use the same kinda setup wake for my stabs as i would to roll. how about you guys? i wish i could make a bigger setup wave to hit to make the stabs bigger, anyone got video of some pros making huge flatwater stabs?

It looks like your not even starting to rotate there. If you land your pre jump to the right just before your wave then crank the bars hard left and peg the throtle. I pull the handle pole to the left as I start to tuck then look over to the left side of the ski. Let your head guide your ski around. Here is a picture (I don't have video) of a stock SXR (Really just footholds he doesn't even have an intake grate) anyhow he is the smootest roller I know of.

Anyhow look at where his head is and how far he has the bars cranked. And as he leaves the water he starts to pull his feet up to tuck as he rotates then pushes out to get the ski vertical as the nose hits the water.

This is a lot easier to do than explain. Just come ride with us and we'll show you. And then you can show me that superman tail grab.

Romack,I have a quick question as your vid is down loading(dial up). What in gods name do you use to keep the nose piece from coming off. I also have a SN and over the week end I went to work on subs and Bam.That piece ripped loose at entry. It was a good thing my face caught it before it sank.

Mine did the same thing, along with the rubber bumper, sheared right off. I removed both for now, and when I took off the bumper noticed the nosepiece was cracked at the back. I'm gonna use it as a mold to make another one and then mabye glass it on.

A lot of people either put tons of rivets in it, or glass it on.

Just put two additional screws in the front of the nose piece and it'll solve your problems. Thats what I did and I don't have any problems and I ride in the surf with it.

lol. i had mine on there for two yrs and never had a problem, marshj literally ripped the front of my hood off at lanier off double wakes. nose piece stayed on fine, i was like wtf is everybodies problem with them. but two weeks ago i tried a roll and ski landed hard upside down and the front tabs broke and i have about a 4 in crack where it bolts on. mine still has one tab on it and i've got extras so i've sort of said screw it until winter, then I'll bolt it down like ant said, along with some reinforcement.

thanks for the help so far, this is the first video i've see of myself trying to stab so it seems i need to get more forward, pole down a bit and get my feet up and lean into it.

hey guys i thought that what the 24/7 vid shows was a bronco as well as how riverrat is stabing the water. and a stab was kinda like a sideways sub thats not inverted. :banghead: are they the same or am i just retarded  can anyone do a rodeo? if so post a vid of that too. i want to learn to do those.

This is how i fixered my nose cover. its not coming off. i turfed over it to make it look good from afar.

I,ll have to fix the sides where the screws go,plus the the bracing for the door.I thought about using the same stuff I used for my foot holds.Came in a caulking tube.Forgot the name but extremely strong stuff.I was going to run a bead on each side in the channel that the nose piece sits in.
I know my next sub will be with helmet to make sure it doent happen agian.

^ where did you get the carbon?

I was going to cover the inside of the piece with duct tape (nothing sticks to it) fill it with great stuff foam, coat that in elmers glue, and then fiberglass me a nice new nose piece and then screw it on good (with an internal fuel fill)
